What is a ghostwriter?
A ghostwriter writes your story, but you get the credit.
If you have always wanted to write a memoir, autobiography, company history or business book but never seem to have the time, inclination or skills, you should engage a ghostwriter.
Whatever your story, let’s write a book together.
How it works
I press ‘record’ on the voice recorder and you tell me your story, which I mould (in your ‘voice’) into a compelling tale. It really is as simple as that.
Some clients draw on vivid memories and refer to diaries or other mementoes to tell me their stories. Others have already made a start on their book, which gives me valuable insight into their style and voice and helps me develop their book.
Books are Good for Business
A book carries enormous prestige. It’s the ultimate business card, a permanent record of achievement, and a soft sell for your personal or corporate brand. Publication of your book will be a powerful, cost-effective marketing tool that will generate its own PR and stimulate enquiries for your product or service.
Publishing
I can help you prepare an initial approach to agents and publishers for your book. However, many clients now prefer to independently publish their book because it keeps you in control of your work—and you keep all the royalties. Occasionally, self-published titles are adopted by mainstream publishers.
Self-publishing is an empowering, straightforward method to get out your book, which can find a wide readership among your customers, within your company, through a website and via word of mouth.
Process and Cost
Ghostwriting involves a number of face to face or Skyped recorded interviews. These will help me learn about you and your world, and establish the key to ghosting your book—to tell the story in your voice. Cuttings, annual reports and other documentation that help recall important events and give the book shape will add colour. Then I write the book. This is your project, so I will respect your decision on what goes in and what is edited out of your book. You have ‘final cut’.
No two jobs are alike, so it is impossible to give a firm cost to my services. However, generally speaking, the more time I put into your book, the more it is likely to cost. I will give a firm quote before we proceed.
